Though Armie Hammer was originally set to star in the rom-com action flick, Variety reported last month that Duhamel had been swapped in for the leading role. The president of production for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, Erin Westerman, said in a statement at the time, “We couldn’t be happier for our bride and groom of this ‘Shotgun Wedding.’ … We know Josh and Jennifer will make a compelling and sexy on-screen couple and they will be fun sparring partners as their dream destination wedding erupts into a memorable nightmare.”
The film follows a couple whose luxe, destination wedding gets derailed by criminals, forcing the would-be nuptials to save their families and rediscover their love for each other.
Earlier this year, J.Lo opened up about learning to love herself in an episode of the new YouTube series Coach Conversations.
“I remember when I was going through therapy at the beginning, you know, kind of in my late thirties, and there was a lot of talk about loving yourself, and I was like, ‘I love myself,'” she said. “But obviously, I was doing all these things in, like, my personal relationships that didn’t seem like I was loving myself, but I didn’t even understand the concept of it. It took time and it’s a journey and it’s still a journey for me.”
