‘The Masked Singer’ Judge Robin Thicke Drops Huge Reveal About the Show

Since first premiering in January of 2019, The Masked Singer has quickly become a true TV treat, in part thanks to judges Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger. But as Robin recently revealed on Dax Shepard‘s podcast “Armchair Expert,” he was initially hesitant about being on the hit Fox singing competition.

While speaking with Dax, the “Lost Without U” singer shared that he initially had mixed feelings about the show because of his own background in music. But over time, he’s grown to love it and now considers his judging gig the “best job” he’s ever had.

“Even on The Masked Singer, making sure I’m enjoying it instead of being up there like ‘Man, I never thought I’d have to do something like this’ … ‘Cause when I started, I still thought, ‘Hey man, what am I doing here? I’m a singer.’ And now, I’ve totally embraced it,” Robin said. “And I’m having more fun than ever.”

Later on in the interview, he continued to gush about how happy he is for saying “yes” to the show. Apart from being proud of correctly guessing Bob Saget as Squiggly Monster in season 4, Robin made it clear that his favorite part is laughing alongside Jenny, Ken and Nicole while filming.

“We’re so silly and goofy,” Robin shared about his fellow panelists. “We’re not taking it serious except for the journeys and emotions that are coming from the stories. But we’re up there just laughing our butts off.”

Of course, Robin isn’t the only one who was nervous about The Masked Singer in the beginning. While Jenny previously told Good Housekeeping that she was all about the show from day one, her team was a little unsure at first if she should sign on. In the end though, like Robin, Jenny is beyond happy she agreed to judge the show.

“It’s nice to be able to put something out there that you don’t feel bad about, you actually feel really good about,” she previously told us. “I’m glad it worked out.”

It wouldn’t be The Masked Singer without them!
