The Best Jewelry At The 2021 SAG Awards

Now in it’s 27th year, the Screen Actor’s Guild Award (SAG), once the event where edgy individuality ruled the red carpet began to compete with the Academy awards with A-listers styled to perfection in high jewelry and vintage pieces from legendary houses. SAG still retained its daring and alluring moments with newbie and independent designers but the celebrities brought on an elegance and sophistication in more recent years.

In the category of fabulous jewels, the 2021 awards were no different; however in every other way, the theme of the show reverberated loud and clear. Social distancing and safety provided the backdrop with the show pre-taped in advance, with no host and totaling an hour to present the awards.

While I miss the pomp and circumstance, the actors mingling amongst each other, the banter and the sharing of political beliefs, I was in some ways relieved. I didn’t have sit through two hours of slow red carpet arrivals plus and two hour show yet I still got to view some awe inspiring jewels.

Trends that we have seen at the Golden Globes, Critic’s Choice, Grammys and I believe we we be seeing again in a few weeks at the Academy Awards were out in full force. These included diamond and colorful statement necklaces, fingers full of rings, a range of earring styles from super studs to linear styles and artfully placed bracelets and cuffs.
